Inside of a piano

As a parent, you are your child's first and best music teacher. You shape their first musical experiences, and help them to discover their own tastes and preferences for music. I see myself as your partner in this endeavor. Please use this page to support and encourage your child's musical learning.

{music rules} Play on Par: Participation, Attention, Respect.

Students in 5K through 5th Grade are encouraged to take responsibility for their own learning and behavior. Students who choose not to play on PAR can undergo the following consequences: verbal reminders, temporary time out, removal from the music environment, parent contact, and/or office referral.

{behavior incentive plan} Each time your child's class comes to music, they have the opportunity to earn five points for good behavior. The checklist for points is based on the music rules. Students evaluate their own behavior at the end of class and record their score. At the end of each nine weeks, the classes who have earned the most points will participate in a music celebration during their class time.
