About Mrs. Isiminger
After completing my bachelor's degree in business administration in 1981 at Geneva College, I worked in various positions in the field of business. I had the good fortune to begin working with personal computers in 1985, and that experience benefited me greatly throughout the 1980s and 1990s as I progressed in my field.
- After taking several years off to be a stay-at-home mom I accepted a position as a computer lab monitor at an Aiken County high school. There, I discovered the positive impact that I could have working with students and teaching them how to use technology. Eventually, I decided to return to school to study Library and Information Science at the University of South Carolina, graduating with my MLIS in 1999, and earning my certification as a School Library Media Specialist the following summer.
I came to LMS in the fall of 2002 from Wagener-Salley High School, where I was also the media specialist. Since I was moving from the high school level to the middle school, from South Carolina to Georgia, and from a school with 275 students to one three times that size, I knew that I would have to make some adjustments, and I certainly did! It took some time, but now I am very comfortable in the middle school media center.
I love working with middle school students! They are fun, imaginative, and inventive - even when they are being total teenagers.
